At Kenneth Shuler School of Cosmetology, staff members live by the company mission statement and understand that it is their duty “to provide superior education for a successful cosmetology career” to all of the students who walk through their campus doors. And for the past 43 years, this is exactly what Kenneth Shuler School of Cosmetology has strived to do for individuals who are ready to take a leap into the fabulous world of the beauty industry.
The company currently operates seven campuses across the state of South Carolina. These schools are located in Columbia (two schools are located in this city), Florence, Greenville, North Augusta, Rock Hill, and Spartanburg. All of the schools are accredited or are provisionally accredited by the National Accrediting Commission of Career Arts and Sciences. Kenneth Shuler School of Cosmetology was also the first cosmetology school in South Carolina to offer students the Milady Business Fundamentals program, which is geared towards making sure students are salon ready in all aspects—especially as it relates to business skills.
While in school, students at Kenneth Shuler are given numerous chances to further hone their technical skills, develop their portfolio, and deepen their community involvement. Such opportunities include advanced training classes with industry professionals, one-on-one resume building sessions, and a wide array of philanthropic events such as “Cuts for Cancer” and “Locks of Love.”
In addition, Kenneth Shuler School of Cosmetology works with world-renowned hair photographers Chip Foust and Tom Carson so that students get the opportunity to have professional pictures of their work while they are still in school. These photos are also submitted to national hair magazines, such as Sophisticate’s Hairstyle Guide, for publication. Numerous students have had the privilege of having their work printed in these magazines.
